I have a pre-paid credit card with 10 dollars on it can I take it off of Xbox after I use it?

I want to pay for Phantasy Star Universe, the monthly fee is 10$. I have a pre-paid credit card with 10 dollars left on it. After I pay for it, will it automatically be taken off or will I still have to remove it??? I mean it won't have any money left on it...soo...
